Kareena is Raj Kapoor�s (film maker) granddaughter, Prithviraj Kapoor�s (actor) great-granddaughter, and Rishi Kapoor�s (actor) niece. Babita, kareena�s mother says that Kareena was named so because during her pregnancy Babita was reading through Anna Karenina�s book and that�s where the name �Kareena� was derived.

Kareena remembers herself as a naughty, spoilt baby who always modeled around in her mother�s dresses! there was a time in bebo�s life when her parents separated because bebo�s father disapproved of women making a career in the Hindi film industry during this �rough� patch.bebo�s mother struggled to bring up both her daughters in lokhandwala, where she switched between jobs�.perhaps this explains where Kareena gets her streak of independence and strength from.
